Laughter Yoga is a form of exercise that combines unconditional laughing with deep yogic breathing, and results in extensive health benefits.
With Laughter Yoga, anyone can laugh without the need for humour, jokes, or comedy.
Laughter Yoga was developed in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from India, and his wife, Madhuri.
Since the beginning, it has gained popularity worldwide and is now practiced in more than 110 countries.
Laughter Yoga works on the principle that the body cannot differentiate between fake and genuine laughter. By engaging in laughter exercises, the body is stimulated to produce endorphins and other feel-good hormones. The deep breathing exercises involved in Laughter Yoga also increase oxygen intake, leading to a sense of rejuvenation and well-being.
